Valley Eye Centers to provide free screenings during Senior Eye Health Week
HARLINGEN, TX, June 2, 2002 -Seniors noticing it's been harder to see may be able to see better this fall! For one week only, Valley Eye Center will be offering three free Senior Eye Health screenings at three of its different locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley area. The screenings will allow doctors and staff to determine seniors who need treatment for various eye disorders, such as cataracts or glaucoma. Screenings will be held at the practices' Independence, Plaza and St. Joseph locations. Senior Eye Health Week will run from October 16-19.
"It is important seniors not to accept poor vision as a part of aging," said Richard A. Berkowitz M.D., who performs cataract and lens implant surgery and will be performing screenings on Saturday, April 21st. "To do so can mean the difference between restoring ones sight or losing it."
